Our 2024/2025 Programme
We’re delighted to introduce members and visitors with our new programme of monthly illustrated talks lectures.
Speakers have been chosen from the exclusive Arts Society directory of 385 renowned lecturers whose enthusiasm for their subjects is backed by experience and enormous expertise. If they don’t completely satisfy your curiosity, they’ll welcome your questions after the talk.
From Qianlong, China’s great 18TH century emperor/art collector, to Caravaggio, bad boy of Renaissance painters, our new season’s lecturers look at London’s controversial plans for hundreds more skyscrapers, take us on armchair excursions over to Portugal, up to Barcelona and along the Silk Road. We review the place of talented women artists in history and ask, ‘Are the world’s most expensive works of art really worth millions of dollars?’!
Come and join us – visitors are always welcome. Members and non-members are invited to a glass of wine, or other refreshment, after the Monday afternoon lectures. Space is limited at the very well-attended Tuesday morning extra lectures but only members are guaranteed a place – signing on as a member is well worth it.
