Our 2023/2024 Programme
We’re delighted to introduce members and visitors with our new programme of monthly illustrated talks lectures.
Speakers have been chosen from the exclusive Arts Society directory of 385 renowned lecturers whose enthusiasm for their subjects is backed by experience and enormous expertise. If they don’t completely satisfy your curiosity, they’ll welcome your questions after the talk.
You will learn how the pre-Raphaelites got their name, laugh at the Pompeians having fun on their frescoes and perhaps be moved almost to tears by the trials of Oscar Wilde. At our first lecture you’ll realise why Gainsborough has made Mr. and Mrs. Andrews look so grumpy and, as the season goes on, and to your surprise, you may find yourself captivated by a lecture about an artist or theme that had never interested you until now!
Come and join us – visitors are always welcome. Members and non-members are invited to a glass of wine, or other refreshment, after the Monday afternoon lectures. Space is limited at the very well-attended Tuesday morning extra lectures but only members are guaranteed a place – signing on as a member is well worth it.
